Spectacular, Tips, Tricks and Kicks
Hi there Everyone!!! My name is Wendy Jones! I'm a makeup artist, an esthetician, a dancer, and choreographer. Put it all together and ta da! I’m The Beautyographer!! I am here to bring all my knowledge and experience from my past 20 years in the beauty industry straight to YOU. I’ve had a love affair with makeup and beauty products as far back as I can remember. As a teenager, I would spend many nights with whatever makeup I could get my hands on and just play around with colors and ways to apply it. I liked to take the most current magazines I had on hand to learn the latest trends and techniques for applying makeup. Growing up I was a competitive gymnast and then easily transitioned into cheerleading and dance. I received a cheerleading scholarship to Hawaii Pacific College. I took my first dance class while in Honolulu and my next love affair began. Before I knew it, I was back east and dancing full time. I was all things, EVERYTHING, dance.
I cheered for the New England Patriots and danced for the New Jersey Nets. While in New Jersey, with the persistence of my very knowledgeable and wonderful mother, Marilyn, I was urged to find a backup plan, "just in case". I hadn’t finished college, I was only bartending on the side to make ends meet, what if I was injured and couldn’t dance anymore? What if I didn’t book another job? She wasn’t doubting me, she was preparing me. So, I went to school for esthetics and makeup. Realizing I now had two passions I felt equally strong about and never afraid to take on a new adventure, I uprooted myself to Los Angeles and continued to pursue a dance AND makeup career. Fast forward to today, I’ve been living in LA for the last 15 years. I still continue to do it all, dance and perform and do makeup and skincare. Now, I’m excited to share and teach you all I know from my work with several different makeup lines, on movie sets and print jobs to my work in salons and my own skincare business!
I know that makeup and skincare can be intimidating at times, but I’m here to guide you in the right direction. Just as I loved teaching dance to my students, I also love teaching makeup and skincare tricks and techniques to my clients. I’m always wanting to learn and explore new things and know that everyone gets stuck in a rut and needs a “pick me up”. I am no different. I often use the same old tired makeup routine because its tried and true but that becomes boring after a while. Makeup and skincare should be fun and exciting and make you feel good about yourself!! I will make sure it is just that for you!!
